HAPPY NEW YEAR

AT LAST there is time to write something in my blog!  The weather is hot and humid and sitting at my computer is a bit of an ordeal!  I am at present working on RESPONSIVE WEB SITES - those that are designed to work on smart phones as well as laptops and desktop computers.  Technology is moving on and as a web designer we have to move with the times.

You can test your site to see if it is RESPONSIVE ...

Just click on one of the phones… and type your domain name into the box and press GO.

Adding Video to your Blog Post

Now we need to add a video clip which is a similar process to adding an image ...

1. Click on New Post at top right.
2. Click on the Insert a Video clapper board icon above.
3. Then click on the Choose a video to upload.
4. Locate the video clip.
5. Click Upload.

Introduction to Blogging

I am writing notes for an Introduction to Blogging course I am presenting on Wednesday night at Rangitoto College, Auckland.  I am trying out the steps to add an image to the post ...  so here goes:

1. Click on the New Post button at top right.
2. Click on the Insert Image icon on the tool bar above (next to Link).
3. Click Choose Files and locate the image you want to use on your computer. You can add multiple images.
4. Click Add Selection, and the image is added to your post, as shown here.
5. You can click and drag the image to a new position.

Memorial Web Sites

We have just been asked to design a memorial web site for a very dear friend who passed away last Sunday in the UK. We have known him for over 50 years and are honoured to be asked to design a site that reflects his life and work.

We are also redesigning another client's web site at www.barbara-arnold.com with new content and a blog. Barbara is currently working on a new Kindle novel entitled "The Orchid Keeper's Son" which will be available very soon. The third book of her trilogy "The Blountmere Street" series, entitled: "There is a Time" will be ready later in the year.
